NV4500
Also known as the New Venture Gear 4500 Transmission, the NV4500 is found in a wide range of Dodge Ram trucks. It’s a 5-speed manual transmissions that is powered on synthetic oil. Some diesel engines relied on the variation known as the NV4500LD and some lightweight Dodge Ram trucks would use the NV4500HD transmission. This transmission is typically found in Ram trucks manufactured in 2007 and earlier.
48RE
Featuring more strength and power than the 47 transmission series, the 48RE features electronic governing and ECU controls built into four-speed heavy-duty overdrive automatic transmission. The 48RE is a part of the Torqueflite transmission design, created by Chrysler. The transmission is made for a wide range of Dodge diesel engine models, including 2003-2006 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 diesel models. The transmission is also found in the 2004-2006 Dodge Ram SRT-10.
A618 & 47RE
Originally called the A618 and later renamed the 47RE, this Chrysler transmission is the predecessor to the 48RE, but still offers good performance and power for Dodge vehicles. Introduced in the mid-1990s, this TorqueFlite transmission was put into a wide range of Dodge vans and trucks including models like the Dodge Ram 2500/3500 ISB Diesel and the SRT-10. We can repair and rebuild these models to ensure your truck keeps running for years to come.
47RH
The 1994-1995 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 Diesel/V10 trucks will typically come equipped with a 47RH transmission as the 47RE and above were mostly introduced in 1996. The main difference with this transmission and the repairs needed is the mechanical governor that is not found in the 47RE. This means that smart control boxes cannot be used with the 47RH and a dedicated repair team will need to fix any issues to ensure proper operation.
68RFE
This is a 6-speed heavy-duty automatic transmission that was manufactured for Dodge Ram vehicles made from 2007 and until present day. If you own a Ram 2500 or 3500 Pickup with a diesel engine, then you likely have the 68RFE transmission under the hood.
G56(remanufactured)
Manufactured by Mercedes-Benz, the G56 is commonly found in manual Dodge Ram pick-up trucks manufactured in 2008 until present day. Models include the Dodge Ram 2500-5500 trucks.
